Walk the Walk
Today’s a big day in my adopted home town of Niagara Falls. Word came this morning that Nik Wallenda will get to do his tightrope walk from the Canadian side to the American side after all. And quite frankly, I’m surprised it took this long to begin with.

And now, Whitney Houston’s name is added to the list of “gone to soon” celebrities…some that had already seen their best days, others that were rising to them. The thing that ties them together was the suddenness of their passing. The thing that sets them apart is how they are remembered.

When an 80s/90s icon who hasn’t done anything overly significant other than a lot of drugs for 20 years dies, the shock and surprise are quickly replaced with “Well, not that we couldn’t see THAT coming.” It is still sad though.

Bacon Shake? Bacon Shake.
Having a job that let’s you have fun while earning money is never a bad thing. And when you get to enjoy a tall fresh frothy glass of milkshake with more than a hint of bacon as part of that job…well…I’m not sure if that should make you reconsider or sign on the dotted line for a lifetime contract.
A few days ago we discussed the fact that a simulated bacon milkshake was available for purchase. This got me angry. If I’m getting a bacon milkshake, I want a bacon milkshake. Nothing fake, real meat. The plan was hatched, and this morning, it was created.
Without giving too much away, we tried it and gave others a chance to enjoy. Ice cream, milk, and one package of cooked bacon. What could go wrong with that?
